You should acknowledge the pencillers and the inker when you colour lineart in your comments.
Otherwise you imply that you've done all parts of the picture, which is deceptive and very likely to not make you any friends in the industry. In the past people have had their DA accounts disabled for not crediting as this is part of the TOS for deviantart.
I started off colouring for a hobby and have always been scrupulous in mentioning all credits every single time. This established a solid reputation and so when I saw some professional line art that I wanted to do and contacted the person to ask if I might have it, I had the base that meant that they'd probanly say yes. Now I get paid to colour stuff...
Its easy enough to find out who did what. Most people put their signatures on the picture and a quick Google search or here on deviantart usually turns up past examples that'll give you your answer.
